Raid on Martin’s Station

The Martin’s Station and Overmountain Men Chapters of the Virginia Society, Sons of the American Revolution (from Ewing and Gate City, Virginia) invite you to participate in the 13th anniversary celebration of The Raid on Martin’s Station.

SAR, DAR, CAR, Colonial Dames, and SR Societies and Chapters are invited to participate in a formal wreath laying ceremony at Martin Station Monument, Wilderness Road State Park, Ewing, VA. Join us for a continental breakfast in front of the Visitor’s Center at 9:00 a.m. The Ceremony begins at 10 a.m. on May 11, 2013.

Participants desiring to present a wreath must deliver it to the park Visitor’s Center not later than 9:30 a.m. on May 11th. Ground transportation will be provided for those needing special care. Compatriots wearing period, Militia or Continental Line dress are limited to area in front of Information Center and the SAR Monument. After the wreath laying ceremony, the above are restricted to areas in front of the Information Center in order to be in compliance with WRSP rules. Wreaths may be dedicated to a specific Organization, individual patriot, or to the Pioneers. 10 rooms will be reserved at the Downtown Inn for May 10-12. Reservations must be made by April 26, 2013.
