In October 2021, chapter representatives were active at the following events:

  • On 2 Oct 2021, Chapter President Ken Morris presented chapter wreath at the grand opening of the James Monroe house (reconstructed), Colonial Beach, VA
  • On 3 October 2021, Chapter President Ken Morris presented a wreath as part of the grave marker unveiling ceremony for American Revolutionary War Patriots Samuel Williams and John Richards, at the Williams Family Cemetery in coastal Mathews, VA (in an event hosted by the Richard Henry Leand Thomas Nelson, Jr. Chapters of the Virginia Society, Sons of the American Revolution)
  • Also on 3 October 2021, Past Chapter President Pete Davenport presented chapter wreath at the Commemoration of the Battle of Point Pleasant in West Virginia
  • On 9 October 2021, Chaplain Gene Thomas presented a wreath and Chapter President Ken Morris participated in the color guard at a patriot grave marking ceremony for SGT Peter Tatsapaugh and Patriot Lawrence Hooff at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Alexandria, Virginia (in an event hosted by the George Washington Chapter of the Virginia Society, Sons of the American Revolution)
  • On 19 October 2021, Chapter President Ken Morris presented the chapter wreath at a wreath laying ceremony at the Gov. Thomas Nelson, Jr. grave site at Grace Episcopal Church in Yorktown, and at a plaque dedication by the Order of Founders and Patriots at Charles Church Cemetery in York County (in events hosted by the Thomas Nelson, Jr. Chapter of the Virginia Society, Sons of the American Revolution)
  • On 23 October 2021 Chapter President Ken Morris represented the GMC with a wreath presentation at the Culpeper Minutemen Muster in Culpeper, VA
  • On 27 October 2021, our George Mason Chapter held a dinner meeting at the Arlington-Fairfax Elks Lodge, Fairfax, VA, at which we held elections, provided awards of several types to chapter members, welcomed new inductees into our chapter, and recognized local police, fire, and EMS/EMT individuals in our community, who joined us at the meeting to receive these awards: the SAR Fire Safety Commendation Medal, the SAR EMS Commendation Medal, and the SAR Law Enforcement Commendation Medal.
  • On 30 October 2021, several chapter members attended a commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the opening of George Washington’s Gristmill in Alexandria, Virginia (in an event hosted by the Fairfax Resolves Chapter of the Virginia Society, Sons of the American Revolution)
