On 4 July 2025, George Mason chapter representatives participated in the 64th March to the Tomb of George Washington at Mount Vernon, Virginia.

 

During 12-18 July 2025, George Mason chapter representatives attended the NSSAR Congress in Uncasville, CT.

 

On 2 August 2025, the George Mason chapter hosted a Commemoration of the 249th Anniversary of the Virginia Declaration of Rights, principally authored by our chapter’s namesake George Mason, at a ceremony at Gunston Hall in Lorton, Virginia.  This event was coordinated with the Gunston Hall Foundation and was well attended by representatives from the SAR, DAR, CAR, the OFPA, the General Society of the War of 1812, the Sons and Daughters of the Virginia Founding Fathers, the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, the Daughters of the War of 1812, and the National Society Daughters of the American Colonist.

 

On 19-20 September 2025, George Mason chapter representatives attended the semi-annual VASSAR meeting in Herndon, Virginia.

 

On 24 September 2025, the George Mason chapter held an evening meeting at the Fairlington Community Center of Arlington, Virginia, to induct 2 new members, overview outcomes from the NSSAR Congress in July, and hear a program element on Patriot George Mason and his role in American history.

 

In November-December 2025, the George Mason chapter representatives presented Public Service medals to honor 3 local Arlington Police, Fire, and EMS/EMT officers whose professional service in the line of duty this year was exemplary.  The 3 honorees were chosen by their Arlington County Department heads.

 

On 13 Dec 2025, the George Mason chapter held a joint luncheon meeting with the neighboring George Washington chapter, at the Mount Vernon Country Club, to install next year’s officers and induct several new Compatriot members.  As part of the program, we were privileged to hear remarks from VASSAR President Dr. Michael Weyler, and an actor portraying General George Washington.
