Birth:   11 Sep 1732 Preston / New London / CT
Death: 22 Aug 1817 Westfield / Hampden / MA

Ebenezer Witter was Captain of the Muskets out of Preston, CT, and his eldest son, also named Ebenezer, was a Musketeer in that Company.  As Captain of the Town of Preston Co. in 1775, he served at Lexington, Concord and Boston.  In 1776 he was Captain of the 4th Preston Co., Selden’s Regiment, Wadsworth’s Brigade.  NSDAR records state CAPTAIN, LEXINGTON ALARM.  After the war, Ebenezer and his son as veterans fought in Western New York against the Iroquois Confederacy.  

Ebenezer Witter was the son of Joseph & Elizabeth (Gore) Witter. He married first, on 2 Jun 1757 Amy Meech and had children Stephen, Esther, Ebenezer, and Amy. He married second, on 22 Sep 1763, Abigail Geer and had children Amos, Mary, Robert, and Alfred. He married third, on 5 May 1796, Widow Hannah Page, in Washington, Massachusetts.
